Legislature stands up for justice, equality

Before the State House vote on June 14 on whether to place same-sex marriage on the Massachusetts ballot, I was doubtful that our legislators would do the right thing; for once I am glad I was wrong. By voting to not put people’s rights up to a popular vote, they proved not just to Massachusetts or to the USA but to the world that some Americans will fight for justice and equality. I am proud to be a citizen of Massachusetts today.
