Recently at our annual meeting, we at the Hyde Square Task Force, our participants, families, staff, supporters and friends celebrated another year of service, activism, and growth here in the Hyde/Jackson neighborhood.
Lots of folks from the community came out to see our youths show off their stuff and share an evening of fellowship. A great time was had by all.
I would like to express our appreciation to all who helped make the evening possible: to Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation and Atlantic Properties for the use of the space and for working with us to coordinate event logistics; toYely’s Coffee Shop, La Pupusa Guanaca, Captain Nemo’s Subs and Pizzas, Ideal Pizza, Quisqueya Bakery, Miami Restaurant, Amir’s Caterers, Cappy’s Pizza and Subs, El Oriental de Cuba, Zesto’s Pizza and Grille and Tropical Cafeteria for the generous and delicious food donations. Thanks also to Sidewalk Sam for leaving his (chalk) mark on the event and to our supporters for their time and enthusiasm.
Everyone’s active participation, camaraderie and support inspire all of us to continue working along with the youths and families of our great neighborhoods to make them even better for everyone. We look forward to reporting on further successes next year!
