I want to thank Elaine Hackney, the owner of Boing! JP’s Toy Shop on Centre Street, for her generous support of the Boston Public Schools. She and her excellent staff opened her store from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on a recent Monday evening to families and friends of the Haley Elementary School for a wonderful evening of holiday shopping. She provided food and wine, free gift-wrapping and a great raffle, and generously returned 20 percent of the proceeds to our school.
I know she’s doing this for a number of other local schools, and I just want to let her and everyone know how much it is appreciated. Thanks again to Elaine and her staff for such an enjoyable event and a great locally owned toy store.
