Kudos to JP Library, First Thursdays and JP community

Several weeks ago I assisted Gordon Toone, one of the participants in the Rogerson Communities Adult Day Center, in getting his work hung for an exhibit at the Jamaica Plain Branch Library on Sedgwick Street. In a time of so much doom-and-gloom news, it was a pleasure to be a small part of such a positive community experience. Boston Public Branch Librarian James Morgan was one of the most professional, pleasant and courteous public servants I have ever met. He extended himself in assisting us to get Mr. Toone’s work hung just right. Later that week, we enjoyed the opening, part of JP Centre South Main Streets’ First Thursdays.

Rogerson Communities is so pleased that Mr. Toone is able to share his art with the greater community. Jamaica Plain should be very proud of the long-running success of First Thursdays—bringing the community together to enjoy the talents of its neighbors and the vibrancy of its town center. We think it is terrific. So, all around, thank you, JP!
