A Jamaica Plain man was acquitted Feb. 26 of a first-degree murder charge in a 2006 shooting death in Mission Hill.

Laron Lewis Richardson, 20, of 10 Blanvon Road faced a first-degree murder charge in the death of Analicia Perry, who was shot while lighting a candle at a makeshift street shrine on the spot where her brother was killed years before. The killing of Perry’s brother remains an unsolved crime, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Analicia Perry’s former boyfriend, Steven Sayles, is charged with being an accessory to murder in her death and is slated to go on trial later this year, according to the DA’s Office.

Richardson was still being held on an unrelated charge of possession of Class D drugs, according to the DA’s Office, which said Richardson is expected to be released shortly.
