Teen shot, wounded

EGLESTON SQ.—A 16-year-old Hyde Square boy was shot and wounded on May 2 in Egleston Square.

Police officers found the teen sitting on the front steps of 1 Ernst St., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was hospitalized. The Gazette does not reveal the names of juvenile crime victims.

Someone had called the police around 4:30 p.m. to report a shooting at 1 Miles St., an address very close to where the teen was found. At that address, police found an SUV described as a “suspect vehicle” parked with the keys in the ignition, according to a police report obtained by the Gazette. The SUV, which is reg-istered to a Hyde Park resident, was towed to the E-13 Police Station.

The Boston Police Department (BPD) has not issued any description of suspects in the shooting. Anyone with information about the crime can contact BPD detectives at 343-5628 or anonymously by calling 1-800-494-8477 or by text-messaging the word “TIP” to 27463.
