Woman shot in Bromley-Heath

A woman was shot on the street in the Bromley-Heath Housing development Aug. 29. She was taken to Boston Medical Center where her injury was declared to be non-life-threatening. Boston police (BPD) has not made any arrests.

BPD spokesperson Eddy Chrispin told the Gazette that there is no indication of gang involvement in the shooting, noting, “But it’s early yet.”

Around 7 p.m. on Aug. 29, BPD officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation near 954 Parker St. Upon arrival, they found the victim nearby.

ShotSpotter is a kind of gunfire locator, a device that detects gunfire through microphones, cameras or other sensors and alerts law enforcement.

BPD spokesperson Elaine Driscoll told the Gazette that the victim and shooter “appear to be known to each other.”

“Officers have some leads on the suspect and are investigating the incident,” she continued.
