Arborway Committee reactivates

The Arborway Committee is raising its profile, holding a recent film discussion about the Silver Line and convening an upcoming annual meeting.

Committee member Kevin Moloney said the annual meeting, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 30 at the Loring-Greenough House, will feature elections for board members and officers. He also said the committee will most likely discuss the MBTA cutting Green Line service back to Brigham Circle and the Casey Overpass replacement project.

Moloney said he hopes the committee in the future advocates “for improved public transportation in JP. I’m concerned with what they are doing at Forest Hills and the effect it will have on the 39 bus and the cutback of the trolley to Brigham’s Circle. I hope it’s temporary and not permanent.”

The Arborway Committee is a private community group that originally formed to advocate for the return of the Green Line service through central JP, a plan killed by the state several years ago.
