Reaching across nations

(Courtesy Photo) Children explore the site-specific art installation “Hello Goodbye” created in Samorin, Slovakia by JP artist Alison Safford following its March 22 opening. The work consists of porcelain hands on rods suspended from wires inside the At Home Gallery—a former synagogue—as an expression of reaching across symbolic spaces. Safford, who traveled to the Central European nation to install the piece, met the gallery owners at last year’s Boston Transcultural Exchange Conference.
