Yerri Perez, a former resident of the Bromley-Heath housing development who now lives in Medford, is being charged with the murder of Edward Villalona on Minden Street earlier this year, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s (DA) Office.

Perez was arrested Aug. 27 by the Boston Police Department and faces murder and firearm charges, according to the DA’s Office. Villalona was gunned down March 31 at 104 Minden St. in Hyde Square.

While a resident of Bromley-Heath in Jackson Square in 2010, Perez was arrested after police allegedly discovered a gun on him in JP’s Mozart Park, as the Gazette previously reported. He was charged with several crimes in that incident, including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammo.
