CSMS to host Valentine’s Day bazaar

JP Centre/South Main Streets (CSMS), a business promotion organization, will host its first annual Valentine’s Day pop-up bazaar at 668 Centre St., according to Executive Director Andrew Zarro.

Inspired by the “hugely successful” holiday bazaar that, by Zarro’s estimation, put $4,200 into the pockets of some JP women entrepreneurs, the Valentine’s Day bazaar will take place Feb. 6 through Feb. 9.

“We’re taking a vacant storefront and breathing new life into it,” Zarro told the Gazette last week. “There was maybe five minutes during the holiday pop-up when the room wasn’t packed.”

The holiday bazaar was so successful for vendors, Zarro said, that he now has a waiting list for this one. There will be at least a dozen vendors, possibly 14, selling jewelry—“A must for Valentine’s Day,” Zarro said—artisanal paper products, metal and glass sculptures and baked goods, among others.

“There’s a lot going on,” he said.

The bazaar will kick off during First Thursday, Feb. 6, from 5 to 8 pm. It will also be open 6 to 9 pm Feb. 7, 11 am to 6 pm Feb. 8 and 11 am to 4 pm Feb. 9.
