A memorial to two firefighters killed in a March 26 Back Bay fire was created at the Soldier’s Monument in Monument Square on March 28 by Carlos Arredondo, a well-known Roslindale peace activist and Boston Marathon bombing rescue hero. American flags, a firefighters’ flag, wings and white crosses bearing the names of Fire Lt. Edward J. Walsh Jr., 43, and Firefighter Michael R. Kennedy, 33, were prominently arranged.
