Obituary: Noah Katz, world traveler and runner

Noah Katz of Jamaica Plain passed away July 31, 2014. Born March 13, 1952 in White Plains, N.Y. Pre-deceased by his loving mother Frances (Wollin) Katz; devoted son of Stanley Katz (and stepmother, Florence). Adored brother of Cima Katz (Gary Tebor). Cherished by his cousins, extended family and friends. Noah spent his adult life devoted to working with the elderly. A world traveler and marathon runner, his genuine enthusiasm for life was infectious to all around him. Graveside service was held at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Flushing, N.Y. on Aug. 5. Arrangements were through Levine Chapels, Brookline.

Friends and family left flowers, running shirts and photos at an informal memorial in Jamaica Pond Park on a bench that Katz frequented, known to friends as his “office.” He frequently ran around the pond.
