Prudential Unlimited Realty becomes Sotheby’s

Prudential Unlimited Realty, with offices at 673 Centre St., changed its affiliation to Unlimited Sotheby’s International Realty as of Oct. 1.

The change is a result of Prudential Financial selling its Real Estate Division back in 2011. As franchise agreements expire, the franchisees must find new brands. Unlimited’s Prudential license expired on Sept. 30.

“After much research, we felt the Sotheby’s International Realty brand most closely represented what we were looking for in our next brand. There was no other brand that could articulate its value as well,” Unlimited Managing Broker Jon Ufland told the Gazette. “We feel it will not only help us grow our business, but also to help our agents grow their businesses, and ultimately, help us provide better service and results to our clients. In our minds, it wasn’t even close.”

According to Ufland, local impact should be minimal. Current clients should already have their front yard signs changed to the new brand, but that should be it. The local office—with new signage already in place—will remain at its location, as will current agents working out of it.

“Our ownership, management, marketing, and administrative staff will all remain the same. This is a only a brand change. We will remain an independently owned and operated company. We are now Unlimited Sotheby’s International Realty, not Sotheby’s International Realty. There’s a big difference,” Ufland said.

Unlimited’s new website is unlimitedsir.com.
