JP Branch renovation plan continues to tweak

Renovation plans for the Jamaica Plain Branch Library were tweaked further at a Nov. 12 meeting.

The latest plan for the 12 Sedgwick St. library showed a smaller reading porch than previously shown, though the Boston Public Library (BPL) and the architects are “hopeful as the design progresses, the full size will be brought back into the scope,” BPL spokesperson Rosemary Lavery told the Gazette.

Other changes include the relocation of areas for older children and a “maker space” that will include a 3-D printer and advanced computer software. There are also relocation of internal stairs and changes to back-of-house spaces.

Three more community meetings are planned as part of the renovation process. The next will be held sometime in February.
