Harvest Co-op space advertised for lease

Harvest Co-op Market’s South Street storefront is being advertised as for lease by its landlord.

Harvest and landlord Dean Rusk have been in lease negotiations for months over the 57 South St. space. The current lease expires in February. The popular grocery market would close if a new agreement is not reached.

Rusk—who is advertising the space for lease in the Gazette—said the move is not a negotiation tactic. He said he is only “covering myself” in case the Harvest talks fail.

Rusk said he emailed Harvest to let it know that he is advertising the space. The market still has the option to sign a new lease.

Harvest spokesperson Chris Durkin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Harvest has another, newer JP location at 3815 Washington St. in Forest Hills.
