Editorial: Roslindale Neighbors

The Gazette makes its twice-a-year visit to Roslindale this week. You could call it a meeting of old friends, and we tend to use the term “neighbors,” but JP and Rozzie are more like siblings joined at the hip by Arnold Arboretum.

We’re both diverse neighborhoods with rich social histories but also facing—and embracing—a lot of modern change. Roslindale has long been home to many people priced out of JP, but who retain their ties here. Neither place is getting any cheaper and no one can say how long those ties can afford to remain, but they remain strong.

We always feel welcome in Roslindale, and Rozzie folks are always welcome in JP. It’s good to be back.
