Letter: Casey project means less bridge, more sky

I have lived directly across from the Casey Overpass, literally a stone’s throw, for almost 20 years. Every day, I have looked out my front window and saw it smack in front of me. Every day, I walked in its shadow. The bridge has been the dominant feature in our neighborhood for almost our entire married life and the lifetime of our four children.

As the bridge has come down, our neighborhood has become brighter. Instead of bridge and more bridge, as I walk from my home to Forest Hills, I see the blue horizon. I feel as if I have been liberated from a dreary existence. Today, we have a sky.
