The stumps of generations of familiar shade trees on Shea Circle are being ground into nothing. Shea Circle is no more. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is converting this site (the rotary near the gateways to Franklin Park and Forest Hills Cemetery) into the largest traffic signal controlled intersection in this part of the City of Boston.
Current construction gives us two additional sets of traffic signals between what were the two rotaries. When the MassDOT plan is complete (the end of this year) there will be five.
