Jackson Square project goes to JPNC’s Zoning Committee

The proposed mixed-used, mixed-income development at 250 Centre St. will go before the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council’s Zoning Committee on Aug. 16.

The project, which is being proposed by The Community Builders, calls for a six-story, 112-unit building with 30 percent affordability and ground floor retail. The project is part of Site III of the Jackson Square redevelopment. About 11 acres of land in Jackson Square are being redeveloped by a team that includes Mitchell Properties, JPNDC, TCB and Urban Edge. The overall redevelopment has moved slowly over decades of planning and funding bumps.

The 250 Centre St. project was one of several proposed developments that received a portion of $22 million in affordable-housing funds the City dispersed earlier this year.
