The American Academy of Pediatrics has named Scott Hadland, MD, MPH, MS, FAAP, their 2020 Emerging Leader Awardee in the area of adolescent health. Hadland, a resident of Jamaica Plain, is a pediatrician at Boston Medical Center’s Grayken Center for Addiction and an assistant professor of pediatrics at Boston University School of Medicine. He specializes in treating adolescents and young adults with or at risk for developing substance use disorders at BMC’s Center for Addiction Treatment for AdoLescent/Young adults who use SubsTances (CATALYST) clinic, and his clinical and research focus areas include improving the care of young people who use heroin and prescription opioids.
