The 38th Annual National Night Out in Boston was celebrated on August 3, and “due to virus considerations, the 2021 version was downsized from more traditional versions that had included neighborhood parties and caravans,” according to Boston Police Department District E-13 Sgt. John Dougherty. Instead, a luncheon was held this year at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square, where award winners were invited to celebrate.
According to bpdnews.com, “during this luncheon, the department honors community members for their ongoing support and partnership with the men and women of the Boston Police Department. Each district throughout the city recognizes and honors some of the top Neighborhood Watch groups and community-based organizations in their crime prevention successes.” At the event, the Mildred C. Hailey Tenants Organization was awarded the BPD District E-13 Crime Watch Group of the Year
