Three Squares Main Street Hosts Annual Meeting

Three Squares Main Street held its annual meeting on May 26 at Top Mix Bar & Kitchen on Centre St. Many residents and supporters came out to mingle, enjoy food and drinks, and to hear about the achievements of the organization and members of the community over the past year.

Remarks were provided by Executive Director Warren Williams, as well as District 6 City Councilor Kendra Lara, State Rep. Nika Elugardo, and Segun Idowu, Chief of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion for the City of Boston, as well as Three Squares Main Street Board President Oliver Baez.

A cake in the shape of the Three Squares Main Street logo, as well as cupcakes spelling out the three squares: Jackson, Hyde, and Canary, were offered to guests of the annual meeting at Top Mix Bar & Kitchen on Centre St.
The Business of the Year award was given to ElShaddai Market, accepted by Jennifer Ogbebor.

Several awards were given to outstanding people and organizations in the Three Squares area, including the Nubian Square Foundation for its assistance with financial matters, Carlton Buford of The Father’s Group at Mildred Hailey for Volunteer of the Year, and Jennifer Ogbebor of El Shaddai Market for Business of the Year.

Also honored was Sgt. John Doherty of District E-13, who served as Jamaica Plain’s Community Service Supervisor and has retired.
