Successful summit was just the beginning

On behalf of the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who attended the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Summit on May 17. With more than 250 people attending, there was tremendous dialogue about current work happening in our neighborhood and honest conversations about more that needs to be done.

We would also like to thank the 15 community organizations who co-sponsored the summit. Their participation, ideas and commitment to the summit made it a true community-wide effort.

From the beginning of the planning process, we did not want the summit to be a one-day event. Therefore, we have scheduled a follow-up meeting on June 23 at the Nate Smith House [See JP Agenda.] where we plan to continue the dialogue that began at the summit.

Our goal is to continue the community-building and partnership efforts that went into the summit as well as identify key issues and challenges that we can tackle together. We know that by working together, Jamaica Plain will continue to be an inclusive and equitable community for all.
