Prepare to have your door knocked and your baby kissed. The Election Department has released its first official list of candidates who will appear on this fall’s ballot.

Challenges and withdrawals can still happen through next week, and write-in candidates are always al-lowed. But residents are likely to hear from the following candidates in the coming months one way or an-other.

Mayoral candidates: Michael Flaherty; Kevin McCrea; Thomas Menino (incumbent); and Sam Yoon. William Feegbeh officially announced a write-in campaign. JP resident Gareth Saunders did not make the ballot and might be a write-in candidate as well.

Boston City Council at-large candidates: Felix G. Arroyo (JP resident); Doug Bennett; John Connolly (in-cumbent); Ego Ezedi; Robert Fortes; Tomás Gonzalez; Tito Jackson; Andrew Kenneally; Stephen Murphy (incum-bent); Hiep Nguyen; Ayanna Pressley; Sean Ryan (JP resident); Jean-Claude Sanon; Bill Trabucco; and Scotland Willis. JP resident Dr. Francisco Trilla failed to make the ballot.

Boston City Council District 6 (JP): John Tobin (incumbent), unopposed.

Boston City Council District 7 (Egleston Square): Althea Garrison; Carlos “Tony” Henriquez; Roy Owens; and Chuck Turner (incumbent). Academy Homes resident David Wyatt failed to make the ballot.

Boston City Council District 8 (Hyde Square): Oscar Brookins and Mike Ross (incumbent).

The Sept. 22 preliminary election will cut the at-large City Council race down to eight candidates and the mayoral and District 7 races down to two official candidates each. The Nov. 3 final election will decide who wins office.
