JPNC election fields 22 candidates

Twenty-two candidates qualified successfully to appear on the ballot for the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council (JPNC) election Sept. 12.

That includes nine candidates for Area B, one of the three sub-districts the council divides the neighborhood into.
The council is made up of five candidates from each of the “areas” and five neighborhood-wide “at-large” members. There are six candidates for at-large seats.

JPNC Elections are scheduled for Sat., Sept. 12, with polling places at the Jamaica Plain World’s Fair in Hyde Square, J.P. Licks at 659 Centre St. and the Forest Hills T Station.

The candidates are:

Area A (Hyde/Jackson/Egleston Squares):

Area B (East of Centre St. between Egleston and Forest Hills)
• Yadelyn Acevedo, Plainfield St.
• David Baron, Glenvale Terrace

• Emily Wheelwright, Williams St.
• Florence Slepian, Sedgwick St.
• Steve Backman, Sedgwick St.

Area C (Pondside, Jamaica Hills, Forest Hills, Woodbourne)
• Jeremy Harold, Wachusett St.
