Thanks for help after fire

This is an open letter of thanks to the Boston Fire Department (BFD) and the residents of Dunster Road. On Sept. 15, there was a serious fire in our two-unit building at 22 Dunster that forced eight of us and a dog and a cat to evacuate at around 3 a.m. before we had time to grab anything. The BFD was on the scene immediately. They not only got the blaze under control quickly, but they were also extremely helpful to those of us who were displaced by the fire. The whole neighborhood helped out, bringing us water and offering sweatshirts, blankets and places to sleep. My roommates and I had only lived in the apartment for two weeks and already feel like part of the community. Thank you to everyone who made this ordeal a little less stressful.
