Thanks to Comcast for youth sports support

On behalf of the City of Boston, I would like to publicly thank our partners at Comcast for their ongoing support of sports programs for our city’s young people. Their contributions to programs such as the Boston Neighborhood Soccer League and the Mayor’s Cup Baseball Tournament made for a memorable summer for Boston’s young athletes, including the boys and girls who were guests of Comcast at the two Futures at Fenway games featuring the Pawtucket Red Sox and Portland Seadogs.

Fifty-two youngsters from Hyde Park, South Boston, the Roberto Clemente Little League, and the Regan Youth League in Jamaica Plain enjoyed a beautiful day at Fenway Park, with many attending their first-ever ball game. It made for an afternoon that the kids will remember for a long time to come.

Thousands of other youngsters benefit year-round from our continuing partnership with Comcast and the additional support they provide for the Mayor’s Cup Football and Ice Hockey Tournaments and the City’s ParkARTS program. We look forward to working with them again in 2010 as we provide safe and friendly sports and recreation programs for Boston’s youngsters.
