Thanks to the Hyde Square community

The streets were full of little ghouls and goblins on Oct. 30 for the second annual Halloween Party and Parade at the Connolly Branch Library. Over 150 children and their families paraded through Hyde Square, stopping at the following 16 local businesses and organizations for Halloween treats: Volunteers of America; Dr. Peter J. Hanley, D.M.D.; City Realty; El Oriental de Cuba; Fat Ram Pumpkin Tattoo; Brendan Behan Pub; La Casa de los Regalos; Vasallo’s Fashion; Hyde Square Task Force; Centre Street Dental Care; Atlantic Travel Agency; Miami Subs; Revolution Bicycle Repair Shop; Video Underground; Beauty Master Salon; and Ultra Beauty Shop.

In addition, this successful event would not have been possible without the generosity of the following businesses, organizations and volunteers: Friends of the Connolly Branch Library; Area E-13 Police Station; Boston City Councilor John Tobin’s office; Ines Artú; Jennifer Spencer; Massachusetts Dental Society; SMV Public Relations; Sorellas; Spontaneous Celebrations and stiltwalkers Annie, Lucy and Sophia; Stop & Shop; Quisqueya Bakery; WIC; and volunteers Maryetta Dussourd (Dr. Seuss); Luz Lao (Wicked Witch); Maria Nuñez (SpongeBob); Joshua Diers; and Fran and Woody Streeter.

We hope these collaborations are building a stronger and safer community for all of us. Thank you, Hyde Square!
