Suspect sought in convenience store shooting

Surendra Dangol, a clerk at the Tedeschi Food Shop convenience store at 783 Centre St.—near Monument Square—was shot and killed during a robbery of the store Dec. 26.

Police are seeking a suspect, caught in two videos committing the robbery and fleeing the scene in a four-door white sedan, possibly a Plymouth Acclaim.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact the Boston Police Department (BPD) Homicide Unit at 343-4470.

Individuals who want to provide information anonymously can call the CrimeStoppers Hotline at 1-800-494-TIPS or text 8477 (‘TIPS’) to 27463 (CRIME). The identification of individuals providing information is stringently protected.

Dangol, a 39-year-old immigrant from Nepal, was planning to bring his wife and daughter to the United States. A fund has been established at Citizens Bank to bring Dangol’s family over for his burial and help cover funeral expenses.
