The following Jamaica Plain individuals, businesses and organizations have received recognition.

City Life/Vida Urbana will receive the FHC “Open Doors” Award for its support of equal and open housing opportunities in the greater Boston area.

Bottom Line, City Life (Urban Revival), Jackson square Partners, Self Esteem Boston and hopeFound have all been nominated for a Nonprofit Excellence Award.

Chris Adams will illustrate a children’s book about Molly the Barn Owl, star of a 24-hour webcast, along with her mate and chicks.

Team Community Servings exceeded their fundraising goal at the Marathon, raising $23,600.

Maggie Cohn has raised $1,330 to further Bikes Not Bombs’ community and global programs.

Guerdy Jean-Poix, a senior at Boston College High School, was a member of the award-winning cast of the one-act play A Lesson Before Dying, helping the production into Finals.

Ana Maria Irene was named to Dean’s List at Fisher College for the Fall 2009 semester.
