The following Jamaica Plain individuals, businesses and organizations have received recognition in the realm of education.

Maya Ginga has graduated from Brimmer and May School

Luciano Avila, Juan A. Diaz, Daniel Diaz, Luis E. Figueroa, Luis Fulcar, Victor Hernandez, Jose Lopez, Herber mazariegos, Yeuris Mejia, Victor More, Roberto Perez and Reuben Soto are the first graduating class of the Latino Fathers Group at the Jamaica Plain Head Start School.

Murray Hershkowitz, Aleah Stewart-Souris and David Thomas have graduated from Beaver Country Day School.

Lois Gordon has been named a finalist for the Peter Gammons Scholarship. She will attend Wheaton College in the fall.

Minda Monteagudo has graduated from the Winsor School. She will attend University of Southern California in the fall. She was the founder and president of The Forum multicultural and diversity club. She received the Class of 1994 Leadership Award and several academic honors.

Elizabeth Ferré graduated from Dedham Country Day School. She will attend Cambridge School of Weston in the fall.

Cooperative Artists Institute’s intergenerational program The Peace Drum Project participants Jessica Marie Harris, a graduate of Boston Latin Academy, and Marjourie Jimenez, a graduate of the West Roxbury Education Center’s Parkway Academy are recipients of the Charley M. Holley Memorial Scholarship.

Hatuey Baez has graduated from Jewish Vocational Service’s Adult Diploma Program.

Gaylen Conover was named to the Dean’s List at Quinnipiac University.

The John F. Kennedy and Louis Agassiz Elementary Schools have been granted $25,000 from the Boston Public Schools Arts Expansion Initiative to support a “Learn Through Dance” partnership with the Hyde Square Task Force.
