Green, clean & honored

Roslindale Green and Clean (RG&C), the volunteer organization that plants and maintains many of the green spaces around Roslindale Square, won the prestigious Gold Leaf Award from the New England International Society of Arboriculture.

The award, given at its annual conference in Plymouth on Oct. 25, was for the replanting of Alexander the Great Park adjacent to the MBTA commuter rail station. The Gold Leaf Award recognizes outstanding landscape beautification projects. The ceremony was attended by RG&C board member April Nelson.

Last spring, RG&C received the prestigious American Horticultural Society’s Urban Beautification Award. For more information about RG&C, see roslindalegreenandclean.org.
