Man sought in stroller assault case

The Boston Police Department has released a sketch of a man being sought in connection with a Nov. 28 sexual assault in Franklin Park.

The man is described as Hispanic; in his mid-20s; 5-feet-8-inches tall; medium build; and wearing a black hat and a black jacket or long-sleeved shirt. The sketch appears to show pockmarks or freckles on the man’s face.

BPD previously released a description of a suspect in the case that was virtually the same. But it is now saying that the man being sought is not considered a suspect at this time. Instead, BPD is seeking to identify him in connection to the case.

In the park attack, a woman pushing a child in a stroller was sexually assaulted and strangled in broad daylight until nearby golfers drove off her attacker. She was later treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to BPD and park advocates.

Anyone with information about the case can contact the BPD Sexual Assault Unit at 617-343-4400 or anonymously by calling 1-800-494-8477 or texting the word “TIP” to 27463.
