E Line streetcar service could be shut down on weekends starting this summer as part of an MBTA cost-savings plan.
The MBTA is also considering fare hikes and a range of other service cuts, as detailed on its website at mbta.com. The possible cuts and hikes were announced on Tuesday. A series of public hearings will be held in coming months.
The E branch of the Green Line streetcar runs on S. Huntington Avenue to the Heath Street stop in Jamaica Plain.

If Boston ever wants to outgrow its inferiority complex to NYC, it better get its stuff together and stop amateur actions like cutting public transportation on weekends. D'oh.
