Letter: Old bridge could be a park

I wonder if the Casey Overpass structure could be saved, saving the cost of demolition, to hold less weight, as does the High Line in NYC?

High Line is a 1.45-mile linear park atop a former elevated railroad spur on the lower West Side of Manhattan, planted as an aerial greenway. The recycling of the railway into an urban park has spurred real estate development in the local neighborhoods.

I volunteer to help with horticultural details. Is it too late?

  • This is such a great idea. I really hope it takes hold--what a beautiful and sustainable vision! Our very own floating gardens.  A friend saw the bridge in NYC and raved about it.
