EGLESTON SQ.—An Allston woman allegedly kidnapped an 8-month-old baby from a Jamaica Plain home on April 17, according to the Boston Police Department (BPD).
The baby was recovered safely at 70 Weaver Court in Jackson Square’s Academy Homes housing development.
Andrea K. Martin, 25, was arrested and charged with kidnapping.
An unidentified caregiver was babysitting the boy at a Dixwell Street home while Martin, an acquaintance of the babysitter, was visiting. Martin allegedly took the baby while the babysitter was asleep, leaving a note that read in part, “Call anytime you want, he’s str8 whenever you ready. I’ll bring him back.”
The note included an address where the baby was being kept, but the babysitter and police officers did not find Martin or the baby there, according to BPD. During a search of the area, a witness directed police officers to the Weaver Court residence, where they allegedly found Martin and the baby.
The baby reportedly appeared to be uninjured, but was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
