Stepping Up

(Courtesy Photo) Manning Elementary School students (front row, from left) Alida Wetherill, Rory Zaisser and Ricardo Dominguez Jiminez were the top walkers in Partners Step It Up, a collaborative program with JP’s Faulkner Hospital to encourage kids to exercise. The program, run by Partners HealthCare’s Center for Connected Health, outfitted students with a wireless device that monitored how many footsteps they took. In total, Manning School students walked 14.7 million steps, or roughly 4,900 miles, in the eight-week program that ended June 11.
