Gov. Patrick: Everyone in Boston stay home

Gov. Deval Patrick said everyone in the entire city of Boston should stay home and keep their doors locked until the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect has been captured.

Patrick spoke at a televised press conference to announce the latest form of lockdown that authorities are using to contain the suspect and protect the public.

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said at the same press conference that Mayor Thomas Menino agrees that everyone should stay home.

An unidentified government agency is making automated phone calls to landline phones in Jamaica Plain and other neighborhoods advising people to stay home.

While Centre Street in central JP is less busy than usual this morning, many people are ignoring the warning. There is a steady flow of traffic and some people strolling in the business district.
