1 dead, 1 wounded in Egleston shooting

EGLESTON SQ.—A woman was killed and a man wounded in a double shooting on June 1 in the heart of Egleston Square at Columbus Avenue and Washington Street, according to the Boston Police Department (BPD).

Brianna Bigby, 23, of Boston, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to BPD. The male victim, who police did not identify beyond saying he is in his early twenties, was transported to a hospital with injuries BPD described as “non-life-threatening.”

BPD has not announced any suspects in the case.

It is the second confirmed homicide in the Jamaica Plain area this year. Edward Villalona, 25, of JP was shot to death at 104 Minden St. in Hyde Square on March 31.

Another person was wounded in a street shooting in March in Egleston Square, in the area of 3090 Washington.
