JPNC extends candidate nomination deadline

The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council (JPNC) has extended it nomination deadline for its upcoming election to Fri., Sept. 20.

The JPNC will hold its biannual election on Oct. 19.

The 20-member JPNC was created by former Mayor Raymond Flynn in 1985 to advise the City on neighborhood issues. Five council members represent the entire neighborhood, while the rest represent particular subdistricts. The members are elected by JP residents ages 16 and older.

Nomination papers are available online at jpnc.org and at the following locations: Curtis Hall, 20 South St.; Connolly Branch Library, 433 Centre St.; Egleston Square Branch Library, 2044 Columbus Ave.; and Jamaica Plain Branch Library, 12 Sedgwick St.
