Two more Hubway bike-share stations—at the Jackson Square T Station and the Green Street T Station—have been installed in Jamaica Plain. It is unclear when the new stations were installed.
Hubway is a collaboration between the City and a private company. The stations allow people to rent bicycles from an automated system, with registration available through thehubway.com.
Other Hubway stations were installed in September at Monument Square; in front of the post office at the corner of Centre and Myrtle Streets; in Hyde Square at the corner of Centre and Barbara Streets; and in Egleston Square at the corner of Columbus Avenue and Washington Street.
The lack of community meetings for input into the location of the JP stations has drawn some criticism. The Gazette has an open Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the City to obtain documents about the community process on the location of stations.

The city has been asking for community input on these stations for months. This hasn't been a hidden process at all--anybody who lives in this city and is interested in these issues would have had no trouble making their voice heard. Just as anybody actually out and about in JP would have been able to tell you the exact moment these stations were installed. Which leads me to wonder; does the Gazette do any actual reporting?
Why is the Gazette trying to stir up controversy over the Hubway stations? They announced their intention to expand to JP and have been soliciting community input since they started over two years ago.
Hubway brings nothing but good things to JP.
i use the monument hubway 2-3 times a week to commute to back bay station and this month...Red Sox playoff games. It's brilliant.
More bikes=less cars=good for all
Hubway is fantastic, and I'm delighted that we now have six stations in Jamaica Plain to connect us to other parts of the city (and Brookline/Cambridge too).
