‘4Ws’ association to hold meeting

A new neighborhood association for the “4Ws” area of Forest Hills will hold an organizational meeting May 31.

The “4Ws” refers to Wenham, Wachusett, Walk Hill and Weld Hill streets. The association’s area also includes Tower, Woodlawn, Leland and Barlow streets. It currently does not have a neighborhood association.

Prompted by proposed redevelopments at 57 Wachusett St. and 38-42 Hyde Park Ave., residents Michael Wheeler, Matt Shuman and Tess and Ken Pope are heading the push to convene an official association, starting with a neighborhood meet-up on May 31.

“We will take people’s pulse there to see if they want a permanent council or want to keep it more informal, with a revolving temporary committee that can be more flexible given busy lives,” Tess Pope told the Gazette last week.

She added that flyers will be handed out to the neighborhood ahead of that meet-up with more details.
