Egleston Sq. businesses could become housing

Egleston Square’s business district might get a new housing development at 3152-3160 Washington St., according to developer Fred Starikov of City Realty Group.

Starikov bought the property during an auction in April and told the Gazette he might turn the property into a housing development, as it is “a nice site and right near the train.”

The site currently contains the Pin Bochinche Restaurant and several other businesses.

Starikov, who spoke to the Gazette during a community meeting for another of his proposed developments in Forest Hills, said the housing could be built around the existing businesses, but said it was too soon for those details.

He said he plans to finalize the sale sometime this month and has to wait for a billboard lease with Clear Channel Outdoor to expire in six months before moving forward with any project.
