Regan League to hold end-of-year parade

After canceling its annual Opening Day parade due to weather, the Jamaica Plain Regan Youth League baseball and softball league will hold an “End of Year” Parade on June 28, organizer Harry Smith told the Gazette.

The parade will include fire truck and police escort, music, and players from 53 teams marching from the Eliot School down Centre Street to Daisy Field. There, the parade will be met by Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster and other special guests, Smith said.

“Many families have expressed their disappointment that we were forced to cancel our traditional Opening Day Parade due to the weather. Because of popular demand and as a way to celebrate another successful season, we are pleased to announce that we will be holding a special End of Year Parade along with our traditional Picnic on Saturday, June 28,” Smith said in an announcement to Regan families.
