Back in the Saddle

Jack the dog (above), owned by Megan Gaffney of Framingham, enjoys a happier time with a horse prior to suffering severe jaw and mouth injuries last month after being kicked by one of the two-ton animals when he spooked it. Jack survived thanks to emergency surgery by Dr. William Rosenblad of JP’s Angell Animal Medical Center dentistry service. Gaffney, who is deaf, communicated with the surgeon by writing notes back and forth. (Photo Courtesy Megan Gaffney)
