Letter: Caring for feral cats kills wildlife

I am confused by the logic of people who care for feral cats. (“Feral felines spur neighborhood catfight,” Oct. 10.)

Do they care at all about the wild birds—estimated to be more than 3 billion a year in the U.S.—and small mammals the cats kill? They should either take the cats into their homes (and keep them there) or turn them over to Animal Control. We would never tolerate dogs becoming feral so why is it OK for cats? If they must be euthanized, surely that is better than the misery they inflict on wildlife.
