Letter: Thanks for supporting Elizabeth Stone House

With our fundraising officially over, I’m thrilled to report that Wilderness Heals, a three-day hiking event in the White Mountains of New Hampshire to raise funds for the Elizabeth Stone House, has reached and surpassed our goal by raising more than $200,000. The Elizabeth Stone House provides residential and non-residential programs and services, as well as an emergency domestic violence shelter for those who are in immediate need. As the Stone House’s largest fundraiser, Wilderness Heals raises crucial, flexible funding that helps meet the needs of the families it serves.

Wilderness Heals is an incredibly inspiring event, and the women who commit to hiking for three days are simply amazing. These courageous women work hard to meet the physical, emotional, and fundraising challenges of the hike.

Wilderness Heals was supported by dedicated sponsors, who not only contributed financially, but also supported our participants through genuine encouragement. They include: Champion Sponsor Natixis Global Asset Management, who also had a team of women participate in the hike; Pioneer Sponsor Novartis; Mentor Sponsors Smith Sullivan & Brown PC, NEMBA and Ride Like a Girl; Ally Sponsor Non Profit Capital Management; and Believer Sponsors Chess Engineering, KleenCell and Thomson Communications.

For four decades, the Stone House has been committed to providing innovative services for families in our community—and for nearly the last two decades, Wilderness Heals, its supporters and participants have made our work possible.

While our Wilderness Heals event is officially over for this year, the need to support the individuals and families we serve never ends.  To support our work through donations or serving as a volunteer, please contact us at 617-427-9801.
