Holidays in JP: BAPA decoration contest starts Dec. 6

The Jamaica Plain Business & Professional Association (BAPA) is conducting its annual holiday window decoration contest beginning Dec. 6, according to BAPA secretary Michael Reiskind.

He said judges will look at holiday decorations on commercial buildings from Arboretum Place in Forest Hills through Canary Square from Dec. 6 to Dec. 12.

“Last year, 83 businesses in the Centre and South streets district took part,” said Reiskind in an email to the Gazette. “This year the three criteria are most artistic, most festive and most inviting to customers.”

BAPA will issue 13 prizes for the contest, including $50 for first place and $30 for second place. Winners will be announced at the BAPA holiday party on Dec. 17.
