Police: 6 shot in Bromley-Heath

JACKSON SQ.— Six people were shot in the same incident in Jackson Square’s Bromley-Heath public housing development on the night of Jan. 23, according to the Boston Police Department.

The victims were described only as five men and one woman, all between the ages of 18 and 22. One victim’s injuries were described as life-threatening by BPD, while the others were not.

The victims were found in the area of 954 Parker St. after police responded to a report of gunfire around 11:15 p.m.

Bromley-Heath has been the scene of gun violence for many years, largely related to drug-dealing street gangs. Shootings and other gun incidents have been reported there with regularity since a 2012 police crackdown briefly tamped down the incidents.

Anyone with information about last night’s shooting can contact detectives at Jamaica Plain’s District E-13 Police Station at 617-343-5628 or anonymously by calling 1-800-494-8477 or by texting the word “TIP” to 27463.
